Signal drops on the road. The map shows where the person was and how long ago, and their position moves again once the signal is back. What you send without a signal is saved on your phone and goes out on its own later.

During the trip, your location keeps being shared even with the app closed, until you pause it or the trip ends. On Android, a notification shows while this happens.
Alerts when someone arrives or stops
You'll know when someone gets to the destination, when a car stops and when someone loses signal. During quiet hours, only help requests come through.

People show up on the map only while the trip is underway. Before it starts, nobody shows up, and when it ends, location sharing stops for everyone. Each person pauses their own location whenever they want, and no one can turn it on for them.
